The BAI program was created by Harvey Morse through the Florida Association of Private Investigators, (FAPI) in 2008. At that time, our hopes were that it would eventually be taken over by another and larger body to manage and administer on an international level in a more structured and formal setting as it is universal in scope.
In May of 2015, the Board of Directors of Intellenet, together with the Board of the BAI, met, and after extensive thought, input and discussion, agreed that Intellenet would be the ideal organization to host the BAI program. That was a major decision and a great one, as the program immediately gained access to Intellenet’s expertise in overseeing the future direction of the program, testing and administrative protocols, and will assist the BAI Board enhancing benefits, coordinating the voluntary education and professional development with other Associations worldwide, creation of a newsletter, management of the BAI members-only list-serve, and numerous other important functions. This affiliation will open many doors for BAI’s, both in their continuing accreditation and promoting the profession in a manner indicative of true professionalism.
BAI is a non-profit corporation registered in the state of Florida. Its goal is to provide recognition to those deserving of an elite professional status who exemplify and practice the highest standards of the investigative profession throughout the world, and in addition, whose desire it is to persistently improve the image of private investigations worldwide.
